It took longer than I thought it would, but my computer monitor finally died on me. Ordered a new one from NewEgg, and it arrived yesterday, which is mostly why I've been silent for a while.

I think the monitor on my computer is about to die. Lately, it never comes on as soon as I turn the computer on, but it usually has fired up before the boot process is complete, at least. However, on three or four mornings in the past month or so, including today, it hasn't come on at all for like ten to twenty minutes or more. It just sat there ( Read more... )

The new 16GB of RAM that I bought last week was delivered today. It should have been here yesterday, but there was some sort of mix up with USPS. On the one hand, they suck for that. But on the other hand, they did still deliver it today, even though it's crap weather outside.

Windows gave me an error yesterday and suggested I run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool, which I did. The first time, I just let it run the standard tests and then reboot back into Windows after 2 passes, and it said it didn't find anything wrong ( Read more... )

I currently have my network cable plugged directly into the cable modem. With it plugged into the router, the computer just sits there trying to connect to the network and then the connection icon goes to the yellow triangle (Windows 7). No Internet or anything. The delivery guy just left. I was expecting them to have tried to deliver it during the day and leave a notice like they usually do.
